Practical Nursing

The Practical Nursing Program at the Illinois College of Nursing is a diploma program which provides students the knowledge and skills needed to successfully work in a healthcare setting as a Practical Nurse.

Applicable & Current

Through classroom instruction, laboratory simulations, and clinical externships, the program integrates biological and social sciences, nursing theory and evidence-based practice to deliver a curriculum that is applicable and current.

Different Learning Styles

To optimize learning outcomes and accommodate students with different learning styles, the lectures are often supplemented with interactive group discussions, case studies, legal and ethical debates, and community projects.

Experienced Faculty

Our experienced faculty provide supportive guidance and mentoring so each student can evolve into an effective nurse leader.

NCLEX-PN

The program takes approximately 1 year to complete and provides the educational instruction required to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN) after graduation.
